WHY COMMERCIALS?

Have you ever thought about doing commercials but thought that you didn't have the "commercial look?" The fact is, everyone has the commercial look! Advertising agencies need people of all shapes, sized and colors to advertise their products to - you guessed it - people of all shapes sizes and colors! So what are you waiting for? You can possibly make several thousands of extra dollars a year doing commercials and have more fun than you've ever imagined doing so!

What most actors and non-actors alike don't understand about the process of auditioning for commercials to actually shooting them is that "acting" plays a very small role in commercials. In fact based on a recent survey, LA casting directors agreed that actors would have more success at auditioning for commercials if they would not come in and try to act, but use more of their own natural gifts and talents in the audition process. This means that if you can develop the ability to just be yourself on camera or be the person that your best friends know you to be in the audition process, you will increase your chances for booking the job!

Unlike television and film, for the most part commercials do not require that you read large volumes of copy (scripts). More than 60 to 75% of the time, you will be asked a personality question such as, "so tell me about yourself" or "so where are your from?" These personality questions simply show the decision makers if you are a fun loving person with a pleasing personality. If you watch television commercials you will notice that they are usually upbeat and crafted in a way to interest you in the product that they are trying to sell. This usually requires lots of smiles and personality. If you think about it, you are usually this type of person when you are hanging out with your best friends or loved ones. Now all you have to do is let us show you how to bring that person in front of the camera and you'll have success at doing commercials!
